Driving to Red Mountain Home
When driving to Red Mountain Home (Kanab) from St. George, there are two options available. The northern route on Highway 9 through Zion National Park is relatively more scenic, but due to speed limits and seasonal traffic this option will typically take longer than driving the southern route through Arizona.

Depending on the time of day, driving through Zion will require payment of the park entrance fee of $25 per vehicle (good for 7 days). Each national park in the area charges a separate $25 entrance fee. Guests who plan to see more than one national park may want to consider an annual National Parks Pass, which allows entrance to all national parks in the U.S. for a 12 month period.( Click here for more information on park fees and passes. )
The most direct route to Red Mountain Home is to take Hwy 389 from the town of Hurricane, Utah. This highway is two lanes and easily traveled. It is much faster and more direct. Once you arrive in the town of Fredonia, turn left onto Hwy 89 and follow the signs to Kanab. As you near the town of Kanab, watch for a Texaco gas station on your right and the Heat Wave Fireplaces and Spas store on your left. These landmarks identify Kanab Creek Road. Turn left onto Kanab Creek Road and follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles. Red Mountain Home is on the right side of Kanab Creek Road, set back a bit from the street.
